This morning, before we awoke, some anonymous person (angel ?) left us a Christmas present on our front doorstep. My kids were ecstatic (and so were we) over the discovery.
Inside, we were treated to a gift card and a beautifully designed game set that included 10 board games. It was such a wonderful surprise and useful gift. The game set will fit well with a basement that we just completed this week after it was flooded with 8 inches of water earlier this year.
The unsigned card that came with it included the following sentiment about Christmas. I really enjoyed the thought. I thought you might as well.
“If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator….if our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist…If our great need had been money, God would have sent us an economist…If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer…But, our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior.”
More about forgiveness in our marriages in my next blog.
But, for now, Cindy and I want to wish you a very blessed Christmas !! May God’s gifts and surprises touch your heart, however they come (maybe even some through an anonymous angel!).
